WHO CAN APPLY TO BECOME A VENDOR?

Anybody who grows, produces or makes 100% of their product! Some vendors grow fruits and vegetables, raise livestock, can and bake products, and create crafts. If you are one of these vendors and want to apply as a farmer at least 51% of what you sell at any given time must be agricultural products produced by you on your farm. Bakers and Crafters are also encouraged to apply!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BE A VENDOR?

Our application fee is $30. Once accepted you will have the option to join the GFM Association for $15 (yearly dues). Parking is $15 a day for our inside market and $10 a day for our outdoor shed, which is provided only in case of overflow. GFM is a non-profit organization.

WHAT LICENSING DO I NEED AS A VENDOR?

As a farmer or nurseryman you will be required to obtain a grower’s certificate from your local county agent and meet any required state inspections. As a baker (or farmer selling canned goods) your kitchen or facility must be inspected by the appropriate state agency and receive an approved rating. As a meat handler you must have a current Meat & Poultry Handler’s License.  Copies of the above documents will need to be mailed to the Market Manager along with your application.

DO YOU VISIT YOUR VENDORS FARMS?

Yes! Visits to your farm or production facility by representatives of the market are two-fold in purpose. First, it provides the opportunity to learn what vendors are doing on their farms. This enables the market manager to provide accurate information to customers, website postings, and other forms of advertisement. Secondly, farm visits maintain the integrity of the market by providing the assurance that those products being sold are indeed produced by the vendor. Every new vendor will be visited their first year on the market. One third of all returning vendors will be visited each year.
